We design homes that are beautiful, grounded, and lasting.
About Us.
Anne Robson Architecture is founded on three principles: beautiful, grounded and lasting.
We design homes that are above all else, beautiful.
Our homes are grounded in place.
Our homes are built to last.
We have a deep respect for our environment. The studio focuses on site-specific design responses to climate, centered around human occupation.
Our ethos is one that is inspired by the natural world and deeply connected to place.

1. Feasibility Study
This is the most important stage of the project. In this stage, we gather all of the information required with the aim to discover your project potential and ensure the brief and the budget are aligned.
We work collaboratively with an experienced planner, analyse the desired budget, discuss the brief, review planning controls and outline the site constraints. We also organise for a site survey to be conducted. This process typically takes 2-4 weeks depending on the availability of consultants and includes 1 visit to site.
At the end of this stage, you’ll have a report with our findings and recommendations for your project.

2. Design
Once we have all the required information, we commence the design. We work collaboratively with our team of consultants to develop a design for council submission and also coordinate all external consultants’ drawings and reports.
When we design, we make sure to not only design for your current needs, but also our future needs for yourself and your family. Do you have young children now? How will their spatial needs change over the next 5 years? Do we need to take into account aging parents? What about your families recreational activities? Do you want to design in the possibility of an Airbnb second income? Are you a multigenerational house? Are you a multi-family house?
We are trained designers. We want to make sure this design works hard for you and your family, not only now but also in the future. We understand that this is typically your families major asset and will make sure you’re all well looked after.

3. Document
Once we have the development approval, our job is then to document the building for construction.
Our work is highly detailed - the documentation set communicates the design intent effectively and efficiently with the builder and their trades.
Our drawings then go out to tender so we can find the best builder for your project.
As architects, we provide the visual clauses in your contract - lawyers provide written clauses - so everything we draw is what will be included in your contract with the builder.

4. The build!
This stage is where everyones hard work comes to fruition. The site is occupied by the builder, and the build begins!
This stage of the project is called ‘contract administration’ where we administer the contract between you and the builder. This part of our project is highly collaborative. Typically, we work daily with our builders on details, coordination, and problem-solving to ensure the best outcome for the project.
The part of our job that we love the most is working with people. The most successful outcome for us is a happy client, happy builder, and happy architect.
